Family

The family is well. They recently attended a wedding in Kenya, so that was a lot of excitement for the girls.

Wedding

Schools

The schools are currently on holiday and will reopen on 14 September 2026. During this break, all classrooms are being used as dormitories for the youth campers.
Last year, when Gabriel visited a church in London, one of the members generously sent two brand‑new sewing machines. We are grateful for this gift and are already putting them to good use in our skilling classes.
Immediately after the 18th Annual Youth Camp, we will resume work on completing the final touches for both the boys’ and girls’ dormitories.

We continually thanking God for the children being sponsored, educated, equipped and loved here in our care. We are so grateful to all our sponsors and all the donations to the projects – Gabriel

If you would like to sponsor a child, please see details here.

Farm

The maize harvest is now complete at the farm. Although the yield was lower than hoped, Gabriel gives thanks and glory to God for all that has been provided. Please continue to pray for rain as new crops are prepared.

Clinic

The clinic continues actively to serve the health needs of our children and community.

Here is our new nurse – Ms. Nabiroto Madina.

Church

The church is growing busier as preparations are under way for the upcoming weeks of Youth Camp (YC). Most arrangements are now complete, with only a few final touches remaining.
Youth from Kenya and Tanzania are expected to arrive on Sunday, the 23rd. Sadly, one of the church members lost her father and the funeral was this week.
Three 100‑seater tents have been donated by friends in Germany, along with 200 mattresses and, hopefully, 100 single seaters for the school’s examination hall.

International Annual Youth Camp

As preparations continue for the 18th Annual Youth Camp, it is hoped that more than 1,000 young people come for the week.

This year’s theme is “Being Rooted in Christ” from Colossians 2:7.

There are many practical needs to meet for this mission—transport, food, literature, security, and more. Pray that God will provide all that is required.

Youth Conference 2026

Gabriel’s travels

Gabriel has been busy travelling during the past two months. In August he travelled to Kenya for a brief visit and earlier in July spent some time in Tanzania.

The visit to Kenya was at the invitation of Bishop Omido Jahonga on the occasion of the marriage of Bp Omido’s son, Fin to Janet. Bp Omido regularly attends and speaks at the pastor and church leader’s conferences at Luwero. Whilst in Kenya, Gabriel spent time ministering to those attending the church led by Bp Omido.

In July Gabriel spent time at Kiseke, a district in Mwanza, on the edge of Lake Victoria in Tanzania. He was there at the invitation of Rev Erick Oguta who has a ministry in Kiseke comprising a church and primary school. Erick’s wife, Getrude, is the head teacher at the school. Erick, like Omido, is a regular visitor to the pastor and church leader’s conferences at Luwero.

In Tanzania a three-day conference was held for church leaders in the district of Ilemela with the theme ‘Getting prepared to be used by God’. It was well attended with 200 church workers, pastors and bishops registering and approximately 150 attending daily. Erick writes and says, ‘(the seminar) led by our brother Bishop Gabriel Kijambu from Luwero, Uganda was a true blessing to us and our Ilemela district church leaders unity. We are so thankful for God’s grace and mercy and your prayers for the event’. In addition to the seminar Gabriel was able to speak to children at the school. Gabriel was accompanied by Sam from Luwero who assisted friends at Kiseke with music and technical issues.

The journeys from Luwero to locations in Kenya and Tanzania are tiring and take nearly two days by bus. We are grateful to God for strengthening Gabriel and Sam for their visits as well as developing links with other ministries in East Africa.

Philip Hudson

The Board of LCP were saddened to learn of the recent homecall of Philip Hudson, a supporter of Gabriel and the project at Luwero.

Philip first met Gabriel in 2005 through Dr Tony Sargent (Principal; International Christian College, Glasgow [ICC]).
At the time Gabriel was due to return to Uganda but prior to that, at the completion of his studies at ICC and time in Glasgow, he visited Worthing and shared his vision for the Luwero Project with Phillip and others. Since that time Phillip actively supported
Gabriel and the project at Luwero prayerfully and practically.

Philip’s funeral and thanksgiving service took place on Monday 3rd August at Worthing Tabernacle. At the service Gabriel gave a filmed tribute from Luwero. Luwero was also represented at the service by one of LCP’s former directors.

We give God thanks for Philip’s life and testimony. He was an encourager.

We extend our condolences to his wife, Margaret, and her family.

Points for Prayer

  • For more workers for the Jerusalem Farm (the tractor driver sadly passed away)
  • For rain, as new crops are prepared
  • For the upcoming Youth Camp – for practical needs, and spiritual growth
