Welcome to the April 2025 edition of our Luwero Newsletter
Kijjambu Family
We are thankful that Gabriel is now strong and well. Deborah continues to manage her health which brings challenges balancing both diet and medications
The girls are also well and growing fast. Life is constantly busy. Priscilla, the boss, celebrated her 10th birthday this month.

Church
The church continues to be busy. In March, time was spent serving the people of Luwero town with a cleaning programme. There was a march for Christ through the town followed by 3 days of Crusade.
Pastors’ Conference

Much preparation has been underway for the upcoming 13th Annual Pastors and Church Leaders Conference 4th – 10th May 2025 held at Luwero Community Church
This year’s theme is Preparation and Establishment in Ministry with teaching from John ch 1-12 and Jeremiah ch 1
Speakers will include Ernie Bayton and Stuart Smith from UK , Bishop J Omido from Kenya, as well as Pastors and Bishops from the region.
Around 600-700 delegates will attend this residential conference which is a huge operation. Around 18 different sub committees have been working hard organising practical and spiritual aspects of the week.
There has also been a period of 2 weeks of church prayer and fasting leading up to the conference. There is total reliance on Gods strength and His presence for this time of ministry.
Alongside the Conference a Children’s Holiday Club will run for up to 600 children from the surrounding area each day from 7am – 1pm. Their theme will be ‘A saviour is given to us’ John 3v16

Schools
The school term will end soon with Final exams for P 6,7 and S3-6. On the whole this has been a good term for pupils and staff, with some sickness absences. Work continues on the dormitories with completion expected by November God willing, Costs have increased which has lengthened the time for construction.
Farm
Work continues at Jerusalem Farm. A lot of labour intensive clearing of roots and stumps has happened with the help of a JCB. This will allow cultivation of the land going forward with the use of the farm tractor. 40 – 60 acres are being cleared.
5 acres of beans have been planted. Large animals moved from Luwero farm. Currently 9 people are working at Jerusalem farm.
Clinic
We celebrate with Lydia the clinic nurse who has given birth to a baby boy recently. The baby will be dedicated soon at the church and the name will be revealed then.
Visitors to Luwero
Team Uganda from St Andrews Leyland will visit Luwero from 19th July – 2nd August

There are 5 of us going from St Andrew’s Leyland. We’re looking forward to going to Luwero and seeing how the Lord is powerfully working in and through this community.
We’re hoping to serve in whatever way we can be helpful for the 2 weeks we’re there, but we know that most of all, we’re going open to learn and to grow and to be blessed by sharing in fellowship with Gabriel, Deborah and everyone there.
We all have very different day jobs – primary school teacher, train conductor, podiatrist, homelessness charity manager and costume design student. We all love the Lord and enjoy serving our church family in different ministries.
We’ve been busy fundraising and getting people involved in getting some resources to take for the schools.
Please pray that there are no issues with getting the visas as we’re not all from the UK.
