Welcome to the November edition of our Luwero Newsletter
Family
Priscilla has malaria at present and the triplets are affected by flu and colds. Peggy struggled with some health issues a couple of weeks ago. Deborah is kept busy with family and school issues whilst Gabriel is away. The Kijjambu family thank everyone for their continuing support.
Gabriel’s UK visit
Gabriel spent a brief 10 days in the UK during which time he had about 12 meetings with individuals, church, and other groups across Central Scotland. Currently Gabriel is in Germany from 16th October to 13th November when he returns to the UK until 19th December. At each venue Gabriel will be reporting upon his work.
Land purchase
Purchase of 219 acres of land for farming purposes is progressing well. The previous owner has allowed Gabriel early access to commence working on the land. The entire site is securely fenced (see photo below of gated access). About 15 acres of ground has been cleared ready for planting crops in January. Following discussions with lawyers in Kampala the opportunity to transfer the property from leasehold to freehold has opened up.
Board Meeting
The Directors have a Board meeting in December with Gabriel whilst he is in the UK.

Gabriel inducted as Bishop
Prior to his arriving in the UK Gabriel, who has pastoral oversight of 550 churches in the Luwero District, was consecrated as a Bishop
Schools
Approximately 550 children attend the primary school and 250 the secondary school. Pupils in P7 and S4 take their end of year exams during October. The school year ends on 24th November for the long Christmas/New Year holidays. Currently 75 children are sponsored by UK supporters and approximately 35 children are sponsored by our sister organisation in Germany. There is a waiting list of pupils for sponsoring. Anyone wishing to explore this possibility should contact us via our Contact Form or find out more on our Support page. In addition to children being sponsored a further six pupils are supported via our bursary scheme. Prior to Christmas each sponsored child will receive a Christmas gift from their sponsor.
Youth Camp
The Luwero annual youth camp ran well in September (see pictures). Nearly 700 young people attended and nearly 70 young people made commitments to take Jesus as their Saviour and follow him. Let us pray that each one will become firmly established in a good church where they can grow spiritually.
